That said, to me it seems like Columbia uses Omni-Heat as a way to cut down on bulk. Yes the little reflective thingers do heat up the jacket, but there is generally less insulation than a comparable jacket without Omni-Heat, so the net warmth is the same. Source: Outdoor retailer.
