Ihave ran all of those sizes on a Chromag Steel Hardtail, For me 29 is definitely the way to go and cushcore makes a huge difference on a hardtail (especially), I recently went from 2.6 down to 2.35 (with cushcore )and it is better in every way to 27.5 plus. the steel frame helps as well. for technical climbing full suspension is always going
Idefinitely like 27.5, the difference is very subtle though. I think 27.5s are very slightly easier to correct bad line choices with and a tiny bit easier to maneuver. Advantageous for Beginners despite the common mantra that Hardtails are better with 29ers.
dabig hills said: ↑. the question is 27.5 or 29. the 29 is spongy so the rear suspension is partially in the tires. 29 rolls up taller obstacles. 29 is taller. 27.5 is spry, it carves quickly, flys faster and farther. Saddle and stem height are the same but the axle is
Backin 2018, I reviewed the Santa Cruz Chameleon in the 27.5+ platform with a tricked-out build spec thanks to Hope Tech. Much like its namesake, the Chameleon really stood out from the crowd of other
Itis partially dependant on your local trail conditions or whether you are using a hardtail for urban riding and commuting; if this is the case go the big wheels! Riders of a smaller build may find the 27.5" wheel mountain bike a better fit than the big wheeled 29er.
Startedon a 27.5 then bumped up to the 29er. I like the bigger wheels for sure but that’s just because climbing is easier IMO. the 27.5 feels more nimble for sure but I ride a lot of XC so going down is only half my time spent on the bike usually. 118R3volution • 1 yr. ago. 6’0” on a 27.5 but I’d happily ride a 29er.

I feel 27.5 is a calling and you know if you want one. 27.5 = steeze and willing to work for it. 29 = roll over advantage and speed. 27.5+ = some additional cush, bit of monster truckin but takes some effort. My hardtails have from 26 all the way up to a 29 2.6.
Anintroduction to 650b (27.5") wheels. It doesn't seem all that long ago that the MTB world was awash with stirrings surrounding a new wheel size; it was called the 29er. Many years on and it seems every trail ride I go on, my 26" wheeled dually stands out in its "old-fashionedness" (excuse the invented word).
